Our client is the Africa’s largest study abroad platform helping students search top universities worldwide, is looking Student Counsellor to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding students and parents through the study abroad journey, from choosing suitable courses and institutions to completing applications, securing admission and preparing for departure. The Student Counsellor will manage assigned leads, maintain accurate records and contribute to the office’s student recruitment targets.
Key responsibilities:
. Student counselling- Assess students’ academic qualifications, interests, career goals and budgets. Recommend suitable courses, institutions and study destinations. Explain admission requirements, tuition fees, living costs, scholarships and application timelines. Help students and parents make informed decisions using accurate, current information.
. Lead management and follow-up – Contact new leads promptly and maintain consistent follow-up through calls, WhatsApp, email and meetings. Record all interactions, progress and next actions in the CRM. Keep lead statuses accurate and ensure assigned leads receive timely attention. Identify barriers preventing students from progressing and agree on clear next steps.
. Applications and admissions – Assist students with preparing and submitting complete, accurate applications. Review supporting documents and identify missing information. Liaise with partner institutions to track applications, offers and outstanding requirements. Guide students through accepting offers and meeting deposit deadlines.
. Visa and pre-departure support – Guide students on visa documentation and processes using current official requirements and company procedures. Coordinate with the relevant team on complex visa enquiries. Help students prepare for interviews where applicable. Support pre-departure briefings, accommodation enquiries and travel preparation.
. Student recruitment and events – Participate in school visits, career talks, education fairs and university information sessions. Build professional relationships with students, parents and school career teachers. Collect and accurately record event leads, ensuring timely follow-up. Support referral campaigns and other recruitment activities.
. Performance and reporting – Work towards agreed monthly targets for applications, deposits and enrolments. Submit regular reports on pipeline progress, conversions, challenges and support required. Participate in team meetings, training and performance reviews. Take ownership of assigned tasks and meet agreed deadlines.
Qualifications and experience:
* Diploma or degree in education, business, marketing, social sciences or a related field.
* Experience in student recruitment, admissions, sales or customer service is an advantage.
* Strong written and spoken English.
* Confidence using CRM systems, Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
* An interest in international education and a willingness to learn about different study destinations.
