Our client is a leading supplier of high-quality seeds and agricultural inputs based in Harare is looking for Seed Operations Coordinator with at least 5-7 years relevant experience and 3 years in senior role. The incumbent will ensure seed production/procurement and quality targets are achieved and implement seed value chain from production, processing, packaging and distribution to meet market standards in the right quantities in the right time. Seed Analyst – testing of seed to determine quality. Interacts with other companies involved in the seed value chain. Understand the strategic direction of the business and produce, procure, process, and distribute seed in support of the business mandate and implement accordingly. Ensure full understanding of the respective strategies by all in the division and participate in the business unit reviews capture the strategic issues to be followed up and ensure implementation. Execute and implement strategies, policies and procedures in support of the company’s strategic goals and objectives. Facilitate the Seed Operations budget preparation using best practices , approval, and review process in order to match stipulated budget against expenditure. Offer agronomic advice to farmers and training when necessary and continually report on crop assessment for growers. Facilitate on compliance issues as far as growers are concerned to ensure seed certification by the relevant bodies. Ensure that local seed production is undertaken by suitably skilled small scale and large scale out growers and correct seed is grown in correct area. Analyse the previous year seed sales to determine the production trend and procurements needs for future market expectations and to use this information along with the strategic plan objectives to formulate production/procurement targets for the coming season. Oversee the testing of seed for germination and purity to meet set standards. The incumbent will participate in product development initiatives, to ensure new varieties and products are introduced in the market thus increasing sales. Familiarise and implement the provisions of ISO 9001 2015 and related amendments in the day to day operations to ensure all objectives meet the requirements. Training and Development. Managing the day to day work of all division personnel and ensure achievement of targets to ensure.
Qualification: Degree in Agriculture / Agriculture Economics / Crop Science / Botany or equivalent. Very Competitive remuneration package based on the experience of the candidate.
