The Farm Accountant will play a crucial role in overseeing financial transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards within our agricultural operation. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in agricultural accounting practices, possess excellent analytical skills, and collaborate closely with farm management to provide valuable financial insights. Manage day-to-day financial transactions of the farm, with a focus on inventory management. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements. Monitor budgets and expenses to ensure financial health and sustainability. Analyze financial data and provide recommendations for improving financial performance and operational efficiency. Collaborate with farm managers to develop financial strategies and plans that align with operational goals. Maintain accurate records of farm assets, liabilities, and expenses to support financial audits and reporting.

 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. A Purchasing and Supply or an inventory management related qualification is an added advantage. Proven experience as a Farm Accountant or similar role within the agricultural industry. Strong knowledge of agricultural accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational and time management abilities.
